To support all the PR activities and product launches. A wide range of invitations to international tradefairs, fashion shows and store openings were created. As well as product launch presskits, launch of a international design competition, celebrating the 60year anniversary of the brand through design of unique symbol and a series of packaging for gifting and a exclusive product range.

Challenge: The task was to support Marimekko’s global PR activities and product launches with a cohesive, elevated design approach. This included invitations for international trade fairs, fashion shows, and store openings, as well as press kits, special product packaging, and communications for an international design competition. Additionally, the 60-year anniversary of the brand required a unique celebratory symbol and design for exclusive products and gifting collections, all while staying true to the renewed Marimekko identity.

Approach: Art direction focused on translating Marimekko’s heritage, creativity, and renewed identity into a range of tactile and visual communications. Invitations and press kits were designed to reflect the brand’s bold patterns, playful energy, and optimism, with layouts emphasizing clarity, hierarchy, and impact. Careful selection of paper stocks and finishes reinforced the premium, tangible quality of the brand, while packaging materials for gifting and exclusive products were chosen to reflect Marimekko’s design values, combining functionality with tactile expression. The 60-year anniversary symbol was crafted to celebrate the milestone with a modern yet timeless feel, seamlessly integrated into all touchpoints.

Outcome: The campaign materials successfully supported Marimekko’s PR initiatives and product launches worldwide. Invitations, press kits, packaging, and the anniversary symbol conveyed the brand’s heritage, creativity, and contemporary relevance, with material choices reinforcing the tactile and visual quality of the brand. The international design competition and exclusive product ranges strengthened engagement with designers, partners, and audiences, ensuring each touchpoint reflected Marimekko’s joyful, functional, and thoughtfully designed ethos.
